And another show has come to a close. West Side Story was quite an adventure. With cast members dropping, cast members being let go, and new talents being brought on during tech week, this show was quite a feat. But we made it, and the feedback has been wonderful. We sold out almost within the first week of our run, and having a packed house every night is such an amazing feeling! I will truly miss performing those super fun dance numbers 6 nights a week! Especially "America." I feel like that was probably the most difficult dance number I've ever had to perform, and I feel like I grew a lot with it. I KICK SO MUCH HIGHER NOW!!!
I will also miss my crazy sassy cast mates. Due to how this show is structured we weren't able to really connect until about a week before tech. Then throughout the 3 week performance run, we truly got to know each other and create some unique bonds. I am super grateful of what they have all taught me. They probably don't know this, but most of them have pushed me to be a more confident person. I truly am learning to live in my own skin, and appreciate what I got!
This was posted by one of my stage managers and I truly connected to it. I hope to maintain Theatre throughout in my entire life, and hopefully someday it will be, completely, my life. So now to continue the theatre cycle, I am onto the next adventure. I have about 4 auditions lined up this month, so I am crossing my fingers I book something soon!
Thanks for reading!
